Hello, I’m Peter Riley, founder of Ocean Mediation.
After a long career in the Police, I retrained as a family mediator to help people find calm, constructive solutions during some of life’s most challenging times. My approach is fair, understanding, and focused on helping you move forward with clarity and confidence.
I’m fully trained and registered with the Family Mediation Council, offering confidential mediation for separating couples, parents, and family members.
Because Ocean Mediation is just me, I’m able to offer a truly personal service — flexible, affordable, and tailored to your needs. I provide both online and in-person mediation, and I’m happy to travel anywhere in the UK to support clients who prefer to meet face to face.
The mediation process is completely confidential and without prejudice, meaning that anything discussed can’t be used later in legal proceedings. This creates a safe space where you can talk openly, explore options, and work towards practical agreements with calm and clarity.
Professional Practice Consultant
Dr Catherine Frances
Every Family Mediator must have a Professional Practice Consultant (PPC), an experienced mediator who acts as their mentor and supervisor.
Dr Frances is accredited for child inclusive mediation, is a board member of the Family Mediators Association, and has co-authored and contributed to books related to mediation.
It is a privilege to have Catherine as my Professional Practice Consultant at Ocean Mediation.
